Rainbow Princess displays one more time the potential of the genre and the creative skillset of the developing studio. The choice of name is not a coincidence, and Hacksaw Gaming strives to join the group of competitors in this category more obviously. In Aiko and the Wind Spirit, the company showed originality and gentleness.
Rainbow Princess is closer to Moon Princess and Starlight Princess by Play’N GO and Pragmatic Play, although it doesn’t share their mechanics. Cluster Pays replaces the 20-line and Pay Anywhere engines very well, especially with the Super Cascades. The Multipliers mechanic brings us back to Sugar Rush, but there are significant differences there.
Although Pragmatic Play’s series has proven its success, I find Hacksaw’s system to be more optimal. You can get a starting multiplier way above x2 and continue doubling it up until the max win of 10,000x is hit. Actually the win cap is one of the highest in the niche genre, with few exceptions like Celestial Sisters Megaways by Blueprint (25,000x).
