The 2024 European Nations Cup, referred to as the 2024 European Cup and the 2024 European Nations Cup, is the 17th quadrennial European Nations Cup organized by UEFA. The event will be held in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024.
Defending champion Italy successfully defeated England at Wembley Stadium in London in the last European Nations Cup and won the trophy for the second time.
Countries bidding to host the 2024 European Nations Cup
- Germany
On October 23, 2013, the German Football Association decided to apply to participate in the competition for the host country. This will be Germany’s fourth major tournament after the 1974 and 1988 European Nations Cups and the 2006 World Cup.
- Türkiye
On April 25, 2014, the Turkish Football Association announced that it would withdraw its application to host the 2020 European Nations Cup finals and announced that it would bid to host the 2024 championship. Türkiye failed to win the election in 2008, 2012 and 2016. No World Cup or European Cup has been held so far.
- Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden
On March 4, 2016, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden announced their joint bid to host the 2024 European Nations Cup. Norway, Denmark and Finland have not hosted a World Cup or European Championship. Sweden hosted the 1958 World Cup and the 1992 European Cup of Nations. On February 27, 2017, the four countries announced their withdrawal of bids.

Germany has a large number of stadiums that meet UEFA’s minimum capacity requirement of 40,000 for the European Nations Cup. Nine stadiums that were used in the 2006 FIFA World Cup were re-selected, including Berlin, Dortmund, Munich, Cologne, Stuttgart, Hamburg, and Leipzig. , Frankfurt and Gelsenkirchen. Dusseldorf, which was not adopted in mid-2006 but was included as a venue for the 1974 FIFA World Cup and the 1988 European Football Championship, will be selected as the tenth venue. Hannover, Nuremberg and Kessarroten, which were adopted in 2006, were not selected for this event.

Each team chose a “team base camp” for its stay between the matches. The teams will train and reside in these locations throughout the tournament, travelling to games staged away from their bases. The “team base camp” needs to be in Germany.[
